5 Ways to Express Yourself With Confidence

Self expression comes in many forms: through the way we interact with others, our sense of style, the way we write, decorating our homes, dancing at a concert, singing in the shower ... the list goes on. Regardless of how you choose to show your individuality, expressing yourself can help you understand how you are feeling and your emotions on a deeper level.

Once more, embracing your authenticity through self expression can actually benefit your health. When you express yourself, you release stored up tension in  that you have been holding on to in your body. Releasing this tension can even reduce inflammation and pain.

Often times, expressing ourselves requires us to be vulnerable by opening up and and facing our fears. Showing vulnerability can be challenging, but finding your authentic self is worth the challenge. Expressing yourself can be a way to get creative and it's really fun. Keep reading to learn more.

5 Ways to Express Yourself

⚡ Visit a local flea market

Flea markets are a wonderful place to find what you love. They have everything from home decor to jewelry and clothes to furniture. Many of the items you find at a flea market are one-of-a-kind, unique, and special. Browse the isles and notice what you gravitate to the most. Select a few things that you love - you can even bargain a great price for yourself! In the process of starting to build a collection of items you love, you'll support your local community and vendors.

⚡ Try a new recipe of your favorite dish

We are all for expressing ourselves through cooking (and eating) food. A little creativity and cooking in the kitchen can make you feel happy and relaxed. We all have a favorite dish. To embrace your authenticity, find a new way of cooking that dish by trying out a new recipe. If you're looking for some inspiration, check out our favorite recipe for Shrimp Pad Thai here

⚡ Surround yourself with your favorite color

For many of us, our favorite color is apart of our personality. It's a way to tap into our creativity and individuality.  We at The Confidence Co love a bold red of course. Surround yourself with favorite color through your personal style including your clothes and accessories. Bring that color into your home with throw pillows, blankets, rugs, or cups and dishes. You can even pick up a yoga mat, running shoes, or workout gear in your color.

⚡ Hang up new art

There are thousands and thousands of amazing artists out there. Get inspired by and find artists on Pinterest, Instagram, or TikTok. Shoot them a DM to see if they have any work or prints for sale. You can also look into more affordable options on artistic marketplaces like Creative Market or Etsy, which is a great way to try out new art pieces with a price that is friendly on your wallet. Art helps to set the tone or mood of any space. Hang up those special, new pieces in your living room or office to bring you to a place of joy and contentment.

⚡ Let go

It's easy to get caught up in what other people think or how the world perceives us. To tap into your authentic self, practice letting go of other people's expectations. Remember that ultimately the most important opinion about you is the one you have of yourself.

Letting go can come in the form of taking extended technology breaks or putting limits to how much time you spend scrolling through social media. Or try releasing your inhibitions by dancing to your favorite album in your room. Or take a solo trip where you explore a new city on your own. Or pick up a meditation practice to tone into your thoughts and emotions.

Self Express with Confidence

Being able to express yourself, in any form, is really difficult if you're struggling with digestive issues like IBS, bloating, indigestion, constipation, diarrhea, gas, or stomach pains. To freely express yourself, in whatever form works the best for you, try supplementing with Confidence. They're the best way to get your gut health on track and to keep those uncomfortable digestive issues at bay.
